Finding a Webhost
No matter if you are starting your first website or are interested in upgrading to a more powerful web host the search for a host that meets your needs can be a very time consuming process. It may be difficult for you to find a web host that meets your needs for a price you can afford. For instance it's nearly impossible to find a web host that will allow you to have a website that people can also download files from and you may not know that there is a separate service to solve this problem called file hosting. File hosts are designed specifically for hosting your files. After days of research and reading and trying different hosts and even going to ask.com or other forums, you finally come up with a list of hosts to choose from.
I’ve been through this my self and would like to share with you my own personal list of sites that I have found to be both versatile and affordable. This is my own personal list and I keep it in case there is a problem with one host so I can quickly refer to it to find another suitable host.
1. Hostgator
Hostgator is good for beginners offering Site Builders, as well as a cpanel. This is the site I myself have decided to transfer over to because they offered greater freedom in programming languages, site builders and were more affordable. They also offer free cpanel to cpanel transfers for those looking to switch to them. The best thing I found about them so far is that they have a wide range of help methods including, a chat forum, email, and a toll free number among other things.
2. Yola
Yola is also an excellent site for the beginners, offering a site builder which is as easy as using a simple paint program and supports html and java if you feel the need to use them. You don’t have much to loose by trying this host because it’s free for smaller sites or you can upgrade to have greater options. Yola has a free chat forum you can go to and talk to other Yola members that will help you solve any problem you have with their service and in every post I ever made, I always had a representative respond to me.
3. Weebly
This is a free web host for small sites which offers a site builder html and JavaScript. It’s good for starting a website and then upgrading to a pay account later if you need more options.
4. Webs
Webs is another site which is free to try for a period of time and then you can pay for their continued services if you want them. It offers both a cpanel and a site builder and takes both html and JavaScript.
5. Godaddy
This is a site which offers a wide range of programming options, including JavaScript, Html, Peryl, Python and Php for a low price. There are several different pricing options and you can get your money back if you don’t like their services.
